Public City served as Prime Consultant for a comprehensive envelope and mechanical systems upgrade at Gordon Bell High School, guiding a multidisciplinary team of architects and engineers in this extensive, phased renovation. Spanning two years, the project addressed the entire 154,000-square-foot building, including the three-storey, five-wing wall envelope, half of the roof, and all heating and ventilation systems. Located along Winnipeg’s Trans-Canada Highway in a vibrant urban area, this is Manitoba's largest school retrofit, supported by an NRCan grant for deep energy retrofits in collaboration with BETAC and provincial energy experts. This ambitious upgrade improves both sustainability and comfort for the school community.
