Fort Calgary acknowledges its site as an authentic and meaningful place of convergence, an area the Blackfoot people called Moh'kinsstis, or elbow. Moving forward, this recognition means built spaces that are more connected to the site, and designing opportunities for site-based learning and outdoor activities. Public City developed a master plan for the site that integrates existing spaces with the new interpretive centre, including First Nations maker spaces, integrated stormwater management strategies, and native plant species.
