Waasamoo-mitigoog, meaning "electric forest" in Anishinaabemowin, is Public City's visionary proposal for a new park at 229 Richmond Street. Guided by Indigenous Placekeeper Sean Kinsella, the design process honored teachings on the significance of pine and cedar to this land and its people. The park serves as a living tribute to these histories, creating a space energized by the regenerative power of the forest—supporting mental, psychological, and ecological well-being. Waasamoo-mitigoog offers a profound connection to the land’s rich past while fostering a vibrant future for the community.
