Waasamoo-mitigoog (Electric Forest), is a wordplay on Much Music’s touchstone program, Electric Circus. Designed in collaboration with Sook-Yin Lee it creates new ground for understanding urban nature, belonging, and temporality at Richmond Street West. Through collaboration with Indigenous Placekeeper Sean Kinsella, the park design responds to Anishinaabe teachings about pine and cedar's role in vitality and healing. The project transforms a vacant downtown site into living infrastructure where forest ecology supports public health. Strategic planting and integrated social spaces prove how urban parks can bridge cultural knowledge with contemporary city life. Here, Indigenous understanding of land shapes civic space—where forest becomes teacher and public ground becomes path to wellness.
