Public City partnered with the University of Manitoba’s Physical Plant, Students’ Union, Campus Planning, and Sustainability Offices to create a bicycle kiosk at the Fort Garry Campus, serving as a pilot for integrating Indigenous Design Principles on campus. Developed in consultation with an Indigenous advisory circle, the project reflects these values in its approach to campus planning. Built from a repurposed shipping container, the kiosk offers a complete bike repair center and outdoor service area, promoting active transportation and supporting the university’s sustainability initiatives by enhancing accessible and eco-friendly options for students and staff.
