Funded by Manitoba Hydro, the Railway Avenue Housing project aims to enhance Gillam’s residential infrastructure in anticipation of town growth, supported by two upcoming dam constructions. In partnership with Fox Lake Cree Nation, the project creates a main street with retail corners and two-story townhouses, attracting families and professionals. Main floor commercial spaces anchor community activity, while robust PERSIST wall construction with R-38 insulation ensures energy efficiency. This investment strengthens Gillam’s core and reflects Manitoba Hydro’s commitment to sustainable, quality housing that benefits the region long-term.
