City of Calgary

In the RiverWalk West Design Competition, Public City envisioned Raftlands, an interconnected urban park system that links Fort Calgary to the city’s downtown west end. Conceived as a continuous public promenade, Raftlands unites diverse elements—transportation networks, infrastructure, urban corridors, and natural spaces—to foster a cohesive public realm. This design emphasizes shared knowledge and ecological harmony, creating spaces that invite both community gathering and sustainable urban growth. Raftlands envisions Calgary as a city where urban and natural landscapes coalesce, guiding it toward a healthier, resilient future through thoughtfully designed public spaces.
