Public City led one of five teams in an international design competition for Rees Street Park on Toronto’s Waterfront. Their design, Down North, envisions an urban forest inspired by the Great Lakes hinterland, celebrating Toronto’s northern identity and resilience. Key features include all-season toboggan chutes, a forest walk, firepit, lookout tower, and atmospheric elements like mist and lighting for year-round allure. Down North offers a dynamic blend of nature, recreation, and seasonal adaptability, bringing “up north” downtown.
